At New Journey Surrogacy, we believe in providing surrogate mothers with some of the most competitive compensation available. From base earnings to supplemental allowances including maternity clothing, travel expenses, medical bills, lost wages, childcare and more. We provide you with full disclosure and transparency for the entirety of your journey.

Want to learn more about being a surrogate? Let’s take a closer look at the entire process.

Step 1: Application and PreScreening (1-2 weeks)
All prospective surrogates are encouraged to submit an application to our surrogacy program. Once your application has been reviewed by our surrogacy program agents and we have determined that you meet our surrogate requirements, one of our team members will contact you for the prescreening process. The process includes an in-depth interview with you, learn about your support system, pregnancy history, family, interpersonal relationships, interests and life experiences. During this phase of the process, we may also request your pregnancy and delivery records for review and pre-approval by the IVF physician.

Step 2: Surrogate Matching (1 week – 1 month)
One of our case managers will then match you with Intended Parents who are most compatible with you. We understand the importance of a perfect match when it comes to choosing the right surrogate parent, and our goal is to match you with intended parent(s) who have similar values to yours. The surrogacy journey is most successful when the intended parents and the surrogate mother are able to form a close bond, and New Journey makes every effort to facilitate a relationship that allows both parties to grow together.

Step 3: Psychological Evaluation (1-2 weeks)
A psychological evaluation is performed by a licensed professional to determine if you are mentally and emotionally prepared for the surrogacy journey. Surrogate mothers are required to have a medical history free of bipolar/anxiety/depressive and other common mental health disorders. They must also be free of any medications associated with such disorders.

Step 4: Medical Screening (2-4 weeks)
Once you are matched with the intended parent(s), you will have a medical screening with your assigned IVF physician, who will care for you throughout the first 13 weeks of the surrogate pregnancy.  During your medical screening, the doctor will perform a physical exam, drug test, blood work, and ultrasound to ensure that you meet all the surrogacy qualifications and are eligible to begin the in-vitro fertilization process.

Step 5: Legal Contract (3-4 weeks)
Upon clearance of the medical screening, a legal binding gestational carrier contract will be drafted by an attorney and reviewed by both the surrogate and the intended parent(s). Both you and your intended parent(s) will be represented by separate attorneys throughout the surrogate program in case there are any issues that need to be resolved.

Step 6: Embryo Transfer (3-4 weeks)
You will begin your IVF medication after the execution of your legal contract in preparation for the embryo transfer. An injectable medication calendar and instructions will be provided by your IVF physician. The embryo transfer will occur after your last set of injections as advised by the doctor. New Journey will ensure all travel is booked in preparation for your embryo transfer.

Step 7: Pregnancy and Delivery(9 months+)
Monitoring appointments will be conducted at your IVF clinic through the first thirteen weeks of pregnancy, after which your OB-GYN will provide the remainder until delivery.

Step 8: Post-Delivery Recovery(1-6 months)
Once delivery is complete and the Intended Parents are given custody, New Journey Surrogacy assists you with your transition back to daily life, including follow-up phone calls up to six months post-delivery.
